Discover AMIGOS gives students ages 13-15 a taste of AMIGOS Summer Programs with a two week facilitator-led service trip in Nicaragua.
Discover AMIGOS is a two-week introductory AMIGOS experience led by seasoned facilitators. Participants learn about the rich culture of Nicaragua, practice their Spanish, experience conservation efforts at a sea turtle estuary, work with local communities, and stay with a host family. Choose the Discover AMIGOS program to surround yourself with Spanish and soak up Nicaraguan culture, enjoying typical foods such as gallo pinto.
Discover AMIGOS is also open to educators to take part in leading this trip! Take advantage of this opportunity to experience life in Latin America alongside your students, acting as a mentor and facilitator for the whole group. This is a great opportunities for educators to see the AMIGOS programs in the field, support young leaders in an immersive environment, all while using and strengthening their own high level Spanish skills by communicating with our partner agencies, staff members and host families.
