Discover AMIGOS gives students entering 9th or 10th grade a taste of AMIGOS Summer Programs with a two week facilitator-led service trip in Nicaragua.
Apply by our Final Deadline: April 15th to participate this summer.
Discover AMIGOS gives students currently in 8th & 9th grade a taste of AMIGOS Summer Programs with a two week facilitator-led service trip in Nicaragua.
Designed as a group experience, participants travel to Nicaragua, “the land of lakes and volcanoes.” There, you stay in the colonial city of Leon, learn first hand from conservationists about how to work with endangered sea turtles, volunteer in community schools, and take excursions to visit cultural sites while polishing up on your Spanish. This structured adventure provides valuable training for the AMIGOS Summer Program.
Discover AMIGOS is also open to educators to take part in leading this trip! Take advantage of this opportunity to experience life in Latin America alongside your students, acting as a mentor and facilitator for the whole group. This is a great opportunities for educators to see the AMIGOS programs in the field, support young leaders in an immersive environment, all while using and strengthening their own high level Spanish skills by communicating with our partner agencies, staff members and host families.
