Maloob’ Kim! We are on week 3 of Route. Wow, time definitely does go by REAL QUICK visiting communities. This week I visited Jesus and Eric in the community of Chechmil, Chechmil is a medium size, very calm, and united community. While I checked in with the boys on how they were doing, little kids surround us longing to exchange English words for Mayan words. Visiting Lili and Susana in Chibilub meant a very small and peaceful community, where little kids are running down the streets shouting your name from a distance so that you can play soccer or a new game with them. The girls had a 2-hour meeting with all the women in Chibilub and it was such a great meeting! At first, the women were very shy however toward the end of the meeting everybody was laughing very hard and wanted to hang out with the girls even more. Last but not least, I got to visit Ignacio and Eddie in Tekom; they seem so energized and comfortable enough joke around and laugh with their host moms. I also loved hearing how much they adore their younger host siblings. I am so proud of my Joey’s and I can’t wait to hear all about their talleres, host families, and all the new Mayan words that they are learning.

Abrazos,
Johana

Maloob’ Kim!

Abrazos,
Johana
