Five Years of Houston Benefits: Impact and Legacy

We are celebrating five years of Houston benefits! On Friday, November 4, at Houston’s Hotel ZaZa Museum District, AMIGOS will be hosting the 2022 Lifelong Leaders Luncheon. The luncheon benefit builds on the legacy and impact of the AMIGOS Breakfast Benefits hosted from 2017–2019. Together, these events raised nearly $200,000 for our programs and financial assistance awards for Houston students like 2019 volunteer Alexa Lara who spoke at our 2019 benefit.

“…I’m so grateful to AMIGOS for their investment in me as a person and as a leader. Being here today is one way for me to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will be the first person in my family to go to college and thanks to this program I learned I can be away from my family and can still be close to them. This world is full of possibilities. Sometimes, we just need the chance to step out and see for ourselves.”

AMIGOS Access Program – Making AMIGOS Possible for All Youth

AMIGOS relies on the support of our donor community to drive our programs forward. In 2022, we are raising $1.4MM to directly underwrite and fund other costs associated with carrying out our programming. Every year, we distribute $300,000+ through our Access Program.

In addition to need-based and merit-based awards for U.S. and Latin American students joining our open enrollment programs, AMIGOS increases access through our donor funded virtual programs and the Youth Ambassadors federal grant program.
