Luke joined AMIGOS for a año sabático in Cuenca, Ecuador in 2019. As a student at Tufts University, he chose to join their 1+4 Bridge Year Program, an opportunity for incoming students to gain real-world experience and explore the world before beginning their college classes.
Luke spoke with Julia of the Gap Year Radio podcast about his experience in Ecuador, what it was like to have the time cut short due to COVID-19, and how his gap year helped him gain a greater sense of his own identity.
