Maya Lewis is a high school senior who is heading to Brown University in the fall. She participated with AMIGOS in Panama before her junior year of high school. This article by Mark Zimmerman in the Catholic Standard discusses what she learned from the experience.
Of her summer in Panama, Maya said:
“It reinforced for me the importance of community,” she said. “They were so welcoming and so focused on community and family. It reminded me of the importance of being involved and knowing your community.”
