On Saturday, October 3, AMIGOS hosted the inaugural workshop of the Community Youth Leadership (CYL) Program, welcoming 15 young people ages 16 to 22. In this collaborative space, participants explored design thinking, connected with peers, and began shaping a shared vision to lead and work alongside the communities of Pérez Zeledón.
Over the coming months, this journey will strengthen essential community leadership skills: empathetic listening, understanding the root causes of local challenges, and co-designing solutions with the people they serve. By translating their ideas into service projects focused on the environment, education, and civic participation, these young leaders will gain the tools and confidence to make a lasting difference in their communities—and in themselves.
