Hola Tod@s!

I’m Megan, your Project Director for this upcoming summer! I’m extremely excited to meet all our participants and spend 8 weeks exploring Southern Ecuador together. It is going to be an invaluable adventure!

I first discovered my love of Latin America in Monterrey, Mexico, where I spent two separate semesters, one in middle school, and another in high school where I took classes as part of the International Baccalaureate Program. Since then, I have continued to find my way back to Mexico on various visits. These experiences inspired me to continue building my Spanish language capacity and AMIGOS offered the perfect opportunity for me to do so.

For the past two summers, I have worked in Coclé, Panamá (as a Project Supervisor in 2017 and an Assistant Project Director in 2018) exploring the lush mountains and tropical weather of the region. I have absolutely loved my experiences with AMIGOS and have forged bonds with staff, participants, and community members that I continue to cherish. I cannot wait to share in another year of transformational experiences, cultural exchange, and friendship this summer in Cuenca.

Currently, I am based in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I spent most of my life growing up. I love dogs, witty sitcoms, road trips and fresh goat cheese. I also am a huge fan of Harry Potter, I’ve read every book over 70 times and still adore them. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, playing cello, trying new foods, and spending time outside.
