This past weekend, the Palmares Project had our first weekend of campamentos. The volunteers, staff, and coordinators from Casa de la Juventud (our partner agency in Costa Rica) divided into three groups and spent the weekend at different communities: La Union, San Pablo, and San Ignacio.

I was lucky enough to go to La Union and it was a super fun and unique experience. The highlights were painting the Salon, the community dinner and zumba, the rally in the river, and playing soccer in their beautiful plaza. We were all fortunate to share with the community and enjoy time together in this beautiful country.

Palmares is such a unique program because we get to have these campamentos and the ticos and the Amigos really get to bond and work together as leaders!

Este fin de semana pasado, el proyecto Palmares tuvo nuestro primer fin de semana de campamentos. Los voluntarios, el personal de AMIGOS y los coordinadores de Casa de la Juventud (nuestra agencia socia en Costa Rica) se dividieron en tres grupos y pasaron el fin de semana en diferentes comunidades: La Unión, San Pablo y San Ignacio.

Tuve la suerte de ir a La Unión y fue una experiencia súper divertida y única. Lo más destacado fue pintar el salón, la cena comunal y la zumba, el rally en el rio y jugar al fútbol en su hermosa plaza. Todos tuvimos la suerte de compartir con la comunidad y disfrutar del tiempo juntos en esta hermosa país.

Palmares es un programa único porque tenemos estos campamentos y los ticos y los Amigos realmente pueden unirse y trabajar juntos como líderes!
