Hola desde Nicaragua!
El día Jueves, 8 de Julio del 2022, llegamos a Poneloya, Nicaragua, tardamos 3 horas y media en llegar a Poneloya ya que veníamos desde managua, todos estábamos cansados por nuestros vuelos y viajes en bus, todos estábamos hambrientos y con muchas ganas de pasar tiempo en la playa, todos arreglaron sus cuartos y colocaron sus mosquiteros, al inicio todos estábamos nerviosos y no hablábamos mucho entre nosotros, luego empezamos a conocernos diciendo nuestros nombres en grupo, hicimos actividades, tuvimos clases de inglés y español por 3 días, hablamos con nuestros romíes y compañeros.
En grupos conversamos sobre las reglas y expectativas además de género y una introducción de energía renovable. Aprendimos como elegir cuales fotos podemos publicar. El primer día en Poneloya jugamos en la playa voleibol y futbol, el segundo día caminamos en la playa todos juntos y el tercer día jugamos landa y nos bañamos bajo la lluvia.
El cuarto día visitamos la universidad tecnología La Salle y aprendimos sobre energía renovable, luego fuimos a almorzar pizza y a todos nos gustó mucho, luego caminamos por el centro de león divididos en tres grupos, conocimos varias iglesias, algunos de nosotros compramos cosas y al final subimos a la catedral todos juntos. Todos los voluntarios llegaron a probar diferentes comidas que nunca habían probado, conocieron la cultura y palabras nicaragüenses.
Hello from Nicaragua!
On Thursday, July 8, 2022, we arrived in Poneloya, Nicaragua, it took us 3 and a half hours to get to Poneloya as we were coming from Managua, we were all tired from our flights and bus trips, we were all hungry and eager to spend time on the beach, everyone fixed up their rooms and put up their mosquito nets, at first we were all nervous and we didn’t talk much among ourselves, then we started to know each other saying our group names, we did activities, we had English and Spanish classes for 3 days, We talk to our roomies and comrades.
In groups we talked about rules and expectations as well as gender and an introduction to renewable energy. We learned how to choose which photos we can post. The first day in Poneloya we played on the beach volleyball and football, the second day we walked on the beach all together and the third day we played landa(tags) and we bathed in the rain.
On the fourth day we visited the La Salle technology university and learned about renewable energy, then we went for pizza lunch and we all liked it very much, then we walked through Leon city downtown divided into three groups, we met several churches, some of us bought some souvenirs and eventually gathered on top of the cathedral. All the volunteers came to try different foods that they had never tried, they knew the Nicaraguan culture and words.
