The United Nations International Youth Day was Sunday. This year’s theme was “Safe Spaces for Youth.” Creating safe spaces for young people to play, learn, share, and grow is a core part of the AMIGOS program and we were thrilled to be able to celebrate in Panama.

The participants in Pajonal took part in a parade, helped lead sporting events, and spent time getting to know the local youth. All on their first full day in community!

The participants in San Miguel are also doing well and getting adjusted in their communities. They have a large environmental fair coming on Thursday at the school that they are helping prepare for.

All of the Discover participants have jumped right into life in their communities! This has already been both challenging and rewarding for them and we look forward to seeing what will they accomplish this week!
