Joselin

Hello from la mitad del mundo, Ecuador. My name is Joselin Hernandez and I will be your Project Director.

I am from Nicaragua. I have studied Teacher Training and Tourism Management. Some of my hobbies are dancing, swimming, learning languages, brewing kefir, and natural building.

I believe in the transformational power of traveling and how being exposed to different cultures and worldviews can open up new paths in life, as well as self-awareness and leadership skills. Hence, I dedicated my career to facilitate educational travel experiences for youth. I have been working in the field of international education for more than 10 years now. I have run programs ranging from 2 weeks to 1 year in length and worked directly with students on the field, as well as in managerial roles. I have mostly been assigned to programs in Central America, DR, Ecuador, and some parts of the USA. I worked in Ecuador for 3 years, and It truly became a second home for me, it is a place very close to my heart.

David

My name is David Flor O. I am from Ecuador. I’ve been working with psychology and music for the last five years, in that time I worked on some projects with social character in many places of Ecuador in provinces like Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, and Pichincha. One of them was the child and teenager choir “Niños Cantores del Pueblo” in La Pulida neighborhood. I have also worked with INEPE’s school program to implement art workshops in Chilibulo, both of them in Quito.

The bond I have with music is very important to me, I consider it one of my life’s fundamental pillars, that’s why I’ve always been learning and looking for new ways to learn about music and playing with instruments any time I have a chance. I recorded an EP a couple of years ago with my project “Los Dados” and continue to create new material. For all of this, I use music as a fundamental tool in psychology for approach, intervention, accompaniment, and treatment in diverse areas.

Also, I manage a psychology-related project by the name “Vorfreude Psychology & Music” that I use as a platform to connect with clients and publish mental health-related content. During this time, I’ll be part of the project staff team in ‘La Costa’, and I’m thrilled to get to know my country from a different perspective.
