Coclé: La Bienvenida
Session B started and all the volunteers arrived in Panama very nervous but ready for this new experience. After a night in Panama City, we went to Santa Clara, a beautiful community by the sea. In Santa Clara, the staff was in charge of giving all possible information to the volunteers and helping them solve all their doubts. Whenever a person knows a new culture, it is important that they have a little extra information and that is what the staff did this week.
At first the volunteers were shy, but as the days went by, new friendships were formed and they all shared very nice moments such as the campfire, swimming at the beach and soccer games.
After the ceremony where the volunteers met their partners, the groups shared their expectations and got to know a little more about the partners with whom they will share the next 3 weeks.
On Saturday, the time finally came to go to the communities and the buses arrived! Each bus would lead to a route and all the volunteers said goodbye to those who were not on the same route. The trip was not long, but the nerves and excitement were noticeable.
When the volunteers arrived in the communities we had a magical moment, full of hugs and smiles. The host families were excited to receive new volunteers and give them all the love of the community!
Session B empezó y todos los voluntarios llegaron a Panamá muy nerviosos pero listos para esta nueva experiencia. Tras una noche en Ciudad de Panamá nos fuimos a Santa Clara, una hermosa comunidad al borde del mar. En Santa Clara, el staff estuvo encargado de dar toda la información posible a los voluntarios y ayudarlos a resolver todas sus dudas. Siempre que una persona conoce una nueva cultura es importante que tenga un poco de información extra y eso es lo que el staff hizo esta semana.
Al principio los voluntarios eran tímidos, pero con el pasar de los días nuevas amistades se formaron y todos compartieron momentos muy lindos como, la fogata, nadar en la playa y partidos de futbol.
Después de la ceremonia donde los voluntarios conocieron a sus partners, los grupos compartieron sus expectativas y pudieron conocer un poco más a los compañeros con los que compartirán las próximas 3 semanas.
¡El sábado por fin llegó la hora para ir a las comunidades y los buses llegaron! Cada bus llevaría a una ruta y todos los voluntarios se despidieron de aquellos que no estaban en la misma ruta. El viaje no fue largo, pero los nervios y la emoción se notaba y el viaje se sintió mucho más largo.
Cuando los voluntarios llegaron a las comunidades, tuvimos un momento mágico, lleno de abrazos y sonrisas. Las familias anfitrionas estaban emocionadas de recibir nuevos voluntarios y entregarles todo el amor de la comunidad!
