This past week was an incredibly eventful week in Chimborazo!

Our volunteers arrived in the early morning of the 26th after flights from across the US. After spending the night in Quito, volunteers travelled to our briefing location, Guamote, where they met other volunteers from Costa Rica and Ecuador.

They hit the ground running and in the next few days, they learned about cultural sensitivity in Ecuador, the microenterprises that the community will lead with the support of AMIGOS volunteers, how to stay healthy, and enjoyed plenty of dinamicas. On Saturday the 29th, volunteers left for their communities! They were accompanied by staff from AMIGOS as well as from our partner organization, Plan.

We’ll update you on what’s going on throughout the summer!
