How Many Community Service Hours do High School Students Need?

The number of community service hours required for high school can vary depending on the school district and the state. Some schools may not require any community service hours, while others may require up to 100 hours of community service!

Fortunately, you can earn community service hours on all AMIGOS programs. The minimum number earned for a two-week project is 24, and can go up to 72 for a six-week project!

In the United States, some states have made community service a graduation requirement, while others leave it up to individual schools to set their own requirements. In Maryland and Florida, there are statewide community service requirements for graduation.

If you’re not sure about the community service requirements at your high school, you should check with your guidance counselor or school administration office. They can provide you with information about the specific requirements at your school and how you can fulfill them.
