Thank you for supporting AMIGOS over the past 3 years. Don’t forget to spread the word about AMIGOS 2023 service projects with your classmates, coworkers, family, and friends! Bring on Summer 2023!🌎❤️

“It’s been three years since we suspended all in-person programs for the first time in our nearly 60 year history. So much has changed during these three years. We’ve gone through a collective experience that will continue to impact us in ways we may not even be fully aware of. And yet, our vision of a world where all people are lifelong leaders sharing responsibility for our global community is clearer than ever.

The changes we’ve made in the last three years have all been guided by this vision. Meeting the moment, we designed virtual programs, and continue with the Social Impact Accelerator for alumni and the Classroom Community Impact Project in partnership with Houston ISD. Our team implemented programs that range in length from 2–6 weeks in the U.S. summer months and brought back programs for middle school students. And we doubled-down on our commitment to Latin American students, fully sponsoring students on our programs and encouraging them to join project staff.

Last year, we began our return to host families with the support of our partner agencies, and this year, most programs have a homestay component.

We are so excited for our next cohort of students to join AMIGOS this summer and applications are still rolling in. Though we still face considerable challenges due to the pandemic, we remain steadfast in our purpose. I have seen (and experienced!) the impact of our programs, and I know we are a force for good in the world.

We’ll keep you updated on our journey and the lives that are impacted along the way.”  –Sara Nathan, AMIGOS President & CEO, March 2023
